Getting around
Getting around in London is the first quest of your trip. Pick up a tube map at the local tube station ( Greenford Station/ Central Line) and check where you would like to go. Oxford Circus is on the Central Line and in 27 minutes you are in the heart of London.
Kids under 5 go free on bus, tram and the tube and if you have a 5–10-year-old, you get a discount on tube fares. Daily travel cards are available at Greenford Station and get you comfortably around with several transport modes in London. You can even take the Thames Clipper or the cable car at the O2 with your travel card!
Once in central London, walk or jump on one of the many bus routes. Bus No 9 takes you past many museums and palaces – one of our favourite routes.
Where to go with kids
Exploring London does not have to break the bank. There are lots of free attractions and adventures to have that are free. Some of our top tips are
Taking the Thames Clipper from Embankment. You start opposite London Eye, pass London Bridge and even can go as far as the Docklands if you like. The best is, its included in your travel card.
Visit London Transport Museum in Covent Garden – tubes, trains and everything that keeps London moving can be explored here! Fascinating for young and old(er).
Explore the Science Museum – be mesmerized by all things science. There are a lot of hands-on experiments over 5 floors that introduce you to the wild and wonderful world of science and explain some of the worlds most wonderful inventions. Take the Piccadilly Line to South Kensington and follow the underground path, that will bring you to the museum. And if you don’t fancy science, you can visit the Natural History Museum or the V&A that are just next door and are also free!
